VITA


Born in Assisi, Italy, in 1987, Eugeni is currently a PhD Fellow at the University of the Arts Bremen. She graduated in International Relations from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 2011. In 2018, she earned an Art Diploma in "Advanced Ideas of Filmic Spaces and Conceptual Photography" under Rosa Barba at the University of the Arts Bremen, followed by a Meisterschüler (Master) degree in 2019. In 2023, she completed a second Master's degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Moving Image at IUAV University Venice.

From 2016 to 2022, Eugeni was a recipient of the Cusanuswerk Foundation scholarship. In 2019, she was awarded the "Karin Hollweg Preis" together with Mattia Bonafini. Currently, she holds an Artist Residency Grant at the Zentrum für Kunst, supported by Bremen Senate of Culture (2023–2026).

Eugeni is the co-founder of Sineumbra (Artistic Temporary Alliances), an ongoing artistic project. Since 2020, she has led the project’s artistic direction.

Luisa Eugeni (Assisi, 1987) è un’artista visiva attualmente ricercatrice ed insegnate all’Università d’arte di Brema, Germania. È candidata al dottorato in Arti Performative all’Università di Leiden (Olanda). Si laurea in Scienze Politiche, con una tesi in Relazioni Internazionali, all’Università degli Studi di Perugia (2011). Si specializza poi in Idee espanse di spazi cinematografici (2018) e in Body and Space Concepts (2019) alla Hochschule für Künste di Brema. All’Università Iuav di Venezia conclude un master in MOVIES Moving Images Arts (2022-23). È cofondatore e attuale coordinatore del gruppo Sineumbra. Ha esposto alla Kunsthalle, al Museo Weserburg, alla GAK e alla Galerie für Gegenwartigekunst di Brema (2021). 
È stata direttore artistico del progetto Hybrid Museum of the Neighbourhood alla Jacobs University di Brema (2021-22) progetto sperimentale sulla memoria legata allo spazio e alle tecnologie ibride. Artista in residenza a Guangzhou (2017), Djerba (2019), Formine (2020), attualmente al Cairo (2023) ospite di ARD Art institution e a Brema al Zentrum für Kunst (2023-2026). A novembre 2023, per la Fondazione Fedrigoni Fabriano, presenta Faber, un’opera site-specific per le Cartiere Fabriano, mentre per Orsoni Venezia 1888 sviluppa un progetto site specific inaugurato a maggio 2024.

INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECTS

►10.2023–02.2024: Teaching assignment at the University of the Arts Bremen, in collaboration with Dr. Mona Schieren: seminar "Watering and Walking: Hydrofeminist Art Practices."

►11.2020–03.2021: (DE) Bremen, Jacobs University – Development of an aesthetic museum concept for the “Hybrid Neighbourhood Museum”, a virtual museum on the Jacobs University campus using augmented reality technologies and historical content. The entire *“Portal to the World”* project was initiated and led by Prof. Dr. Jakob Fruchtmann. Eugeni designed the museum’s aesthetic concept, apps, and various media, and coordinated collaboration with designers Leonard Rokita and Clemens Gensch as well as historian Rüdiger Ritter.

►05.2022: (IT) Venice – In collaboration with Biennale Urbana, preparation and support to the workshop “La Bohème: Out of Venice”, a project developed by Prof. Dr. Philip Ursprung, ETH Zurich University.

►02.2019–07.2019: (IT) Venice – German Pavilion, 58th Art Biennale (Italy). Part of the coordination team for the summer school “Beyond Repair”, in collaboration with Natascha Süder Happelmann (Natascha Sadr Haghighian), Ernest Ah, Biennale Urbana, Mona Schieren, and Ingo Vetter.

►10.2018–01.2019: (IT, AT, DE) Marzamemi, Vienna, Bremen – Co-development and Fieldwork Research logistical support for an interdisciplinary project between the sculpture class of Prof. Ingo Vetter (University of the Arts Bremen) and architecture students from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, "Six Characters in Search of an Author."
