Stray greek cats

This short film was made after a trip to Greece in summer 2017. The purpose of the trip was to collect video material on “Exarcheia”, a neighborhood in downtown Athens, but  misunderstandings or fortuitous encounters led to an unexpected development of the journey: the urban scenery changes into the remote island of Icaria. The narrative structure is built around the concept of belonging, connecting the parallelism stray-domestic to foreign-native. Putting the house" in the center of consideration, taking the cats as subject, the short film is a poetic investigation of the urban landscape and a personal reflection on feeling foreign.
